U-30

Hull #7931

Born in 1979 as the U-31 Miss Circus Circus with the unorthodox cathedral wings, the Domino's raced for the early eighties under a few names. It raced as the Circus for two years, then was changed to the U-77 Spirit of the Air Force with Al Letcher as the driver for one race in 1981.

It raced as the U-2 The Squire Shop for two years. Finally, in 1985, the boat became the U-30 Domino's Pizza. Owned by Bob Gilliam and piloted by Gilliam and George Johnson, the boat failed to qualify at the Tri-Cities at its first race. The next week, the boat finished tenth at Seattle for the Gold Cup. Finally, in its last race, the boat failed to qualify at Oklahoma City. Overall, the boat finished 11th in national high points.
