The Miss U.S. was a Lauterbach design that debuted in 1957 with Don Wilson at the helm. The fourth of the Miss U.S. boats, the team attempted to qualify at the Gold Cup in Seattle but was unsuccessful. The team's first official race was at the last race of the season in Las Vegas, where they took second place. In 1958, Frank Saile took over the driving duties, as the team competed the boat in only 1 race: the International Cup in Elizabeth City, NC. The boat placed fourth in this event. The boat has been restored and currently runs on the vintage circuit.
