The Notre Dame debuted in 1969 and raced until 1971, when it was destroyed at Seattle with Billy Sterret Jr. driving. Leif Borgesen drove the boat for its first two years on the circuit. It never won a race, but did finish 2nd four times.

The boat made its debut in Guntersville, Alabama, on June 8th for the Dixie Cup. With Borgesen at the wheel, it finished fourth in its debut race. It would finish the 1969 season 4th in points, finishing 2nd in Owensboro and the Tri-Cities.
